Wedding Week

Well, this is it. It’s wedding week. Daughter is getting married on Saturday. Yes, I have mixed emotions. It’s difficult to believe she found someone we a) actually like and b) actually trust enough to let her marry. Daughter is a confident, hard-working, determined young woman. I have faith that she and her guy will make mostly good decisions.wedding flowers

It’s been an interesting year with three of our kids moving out since December 1, 2013, and a fourth leaving before the end of August. The house is so much quieter. We added the children one at a time over 18 years. It just seemed natural the way the family grew, the way the noise increased, the way the food budget expanded, the way we needed a bigger house, then a mini-van. Then, when the time was right, they began to leave – the first three in a group, one a few years later. Two of those came back for a year or so.

Now Daughter and a son are leaving about the same time, which will leave us with just one at home.I’m not sure how I feel about that. I’m kind of looking forward to having more time with Youngest Daughter. Being #7 she pretty much got gypped out of mom time once she weaned. Maybe we can make up for it over the next couple of years.

Pray for sunshine Saturday for Daughter’s Garden Wedding.
