Just Yesterday

Alicia 250px 72dpiToday is the first day of school here in Calgary. BabyGirl is in grade 11. She’s already talking about her grad next year – what her dress will be like (on a budget, of course) and how she’ll do her hair. It does no good to try to pull her back to the here and now – to the homework that will have to be done and the courses that need to be completed – her head’s just not in the present.

Wedding Week

Well, this is it. It’s wedding week. Daughter is getting married on Saturday. Yes, I have mixed emotions. It’s difficult to believe she found someone we a) actually like and b) actually trust enough to let her marry. Daughter is a confident, hard-working, determined young woman. I have faith that she and her guy will make mostly good decisions.wedding flowers

It’s been an interesting year with three of our kids moving out since December 1, 2013, and a fourth leaving before the end of August. The house is so much quieter.
